Jordan is a lower-middle income country with a population of 11.4 million, of which 63% are youth. It hosts around 1.3 million refugees, including 730,000 registered Syrians, Sudanese, and Yemenis. Approximately 82% of registered refugees live outside camps, mainly in urban areas such as Amman and northern Jordan, while more than 2.39 million registered Palestine refugees also reside in the country. By mid-2024, only 7% of the nearly $2 billion required funding for Jordan had been pledged. Against this backdrop, Hopes for Training, Education and Development, established in 2012, operates in Jerash (Gaza) Camp and works with vulnerable communities, with a particular focus on girls and young women, people with disabilities, adolescents, and youth. By employing dynamic, participatory, and collaborative methods, the organization’s primary emphasis lies in four key thematic areas.
As part of our efforts to empower youth, refugees, and individuals, we offer a new component and initiative by providing training courses in various fields. These include:
We offer courses in computer skills, internet literacy, and additionally, photography workshops to enable participants to acquire important technical skills and develop their artistic talents. These trainings enhance learning and innovation capabilities, providing participants with opportunities to discover and develop their talents in technology and art.
Workshops and sessions focus on mental well-being, coping strategies, stress management, and building resilience to tackle psychological challenges participants may face. These trainings are essential for enhancing mental and emotional health, developing positive thinking skills, and adapting to life challenges.
Comprehensive English language courses designed to enhance communication skills and interaction with the outside world. English language proficiency is crucial in the modern era for opening opportunities in education, employment, and international communication.

Hopes for Development is an organization that truly cares about the future of refugees. The skills I learned through their vocational training program have enabled me to start my own small business and support my family. They didn’t just teach us; they believed in us.
