Storytelling Sessions at Hopes Library

Hopes Library organizes interactive storytelling sessions led by trained Reading Ambassadors who participated in the We love Reading training program. These young ambassadors conduct storytelling activities in kindergartens, schools, and at the library, helping introduce children to the joy of books and encouraging early reading habits across Jerash Refugee Camp.

Encouraging Early Literacy

Early exposure to stories plays a vital role in developing children’s language, comprehension, and imagination. The Storytelling Sessions provide an opportunity for children to experience books in a lively and engaging way, helping them build curiosity and enthusiasm for reading.

These sessions create a supportive space where children can explore stories and begin their journey as young readers.

During storytelling sessions, children participate in activities that make stories interactive and memorable, including:

  • Listening to engaging stories read by facilitators
  • Participating in discussions about characters and events
  • Creative activities such as drawing or acting out scenes
  • Sharing ideas and interpretations of the story

These experiences help children build confidence, improve listening skills, and strengthen their connection with books.

Inspiring Young Readers

By introducing children to stories in a creative and interactive setting, the Storytelling Sessions help nurture imagination and a lifelong interest in reading and learning.

For many young participants, these sessions become their first step toward discovering the joy of books.
